[A] jumble of cop- and heist-movie cliches, dotted with appearances by actors you liked in something else.... This noirish thriller is as self-knowingly ludicrous and thoroughly enjoyable as Fritz Lang's Beyond a Reasonable Doubt or While the City Sleeps..
