Bullock is just plain funny.. [Knight] fills his story with too many contrivances - not to mention narrative strands .... Nothing in "Redemption" quite adds up, including the paranoid hero's insistence that he's being watched by drones.. If, as has been much noted, lampooning beauty pageants is like shooting fish in barrel, why do all the movies that attempt it end up looking sadder than the third-place runner-up?. Almost no one in this film is allowed to play to their strengths.. High on stuntw...
